Make the Beautiful Dresden Flower!

Hi, it’s Jenny, from the Missouri Star Quilt Company, and we’ve got another fun project for you using the Dresden Ruler. We looked in our stash, and found a bunch of the old thirties prints, and we cut them on the 5” line on the Dresden ruler.

This takes twenty blades to make this flower, put a center in it, mounted it on a piece of fabric. We used about a yard of ric-rac for the stem and the bottom, and two more Dresden blades for the leaves. We then bordered it with little pieces of, I think they’re 2” squares, all the way around, of the same thirties prints, and we just think this is an adorable thing. It would
be so cute hanging in a kitchen, or a little girl’s room. It would be fun to put two or three of them together.

    I tried to make a dresden flower and it did not turn out like yours. The Center was too large. Any ideas?

      Not sure. Could you share a photo? A circle about 4 inches across then appliqued on should work well.
