I have cut and sewn all the rows of roofs and houses just like you demonstrate and they don’t match up.meaning the roof and houses don’t match up. What did I do wrong?

  • Nicky

You are missing some of the instructions. If you start with a house there is a small gap where the roof is. What do you do there?
    Thanks

    • JenM

Oops…leaky roof row! We added the instruction and template for those little corner pieces in our latest Quilting Quickly magazine. To get your own template, you can sew another roof piece to the end of the row, press it, then cut it off to be even with the house below. You can trace that piece (keep the seam allowance) and use it as a template for 11 more little corner pieces for the ends of the roof rows.

What size is the square used to prevent the gap when making the roof row?

Any word on when the wacky web papers will be in stock???
    Thanks for the info.

Love this, I’m joining the rows but lining up the roofs with the houses is not matching as well as I’d like. The quickly quilting magazine has different measurements ie not 1/2 a 10″ square – to join houses – a bit bigger in fact 5 1/4 ” – I think that’s maybe why- ?

    • JenM

Yes, unfortunately, that is a typo in the magazine pattern. The “A” rectangle reference there should measure 10″ x 5.” On the bright side, at least the typo called for bigger not smaller…so you may have to pull out seams, but you can at least just cut off 1/4 inch and try again. Sorry about that!

      • Nikki

Now I’m very confused as I did the 5″ and have now cut some at 5 1/4″ as the roof came up short with only 5″. I’ve only done 3 quilts so far, so maybe it’s me! But I’m about to try joining them with the extra. Thanks for reply. Love your videos and enthusiasm.
