It seems like there is a LOT of waste of the white fabric. Could you not start out with a 10-inch square for the white?

Hello. I used yardage. Cut a 10″ wof and cut the triangles that way. I also cut away the strip off the side 1/4″ sewing line first. I used that cut off piece with the small triangle template and used it with 5″ squares to make smaller wedge star blocks. Very little waste. The colored sections I cut off will be sewn together and use in the backing.

For most of these tutorials, how do I know how big her finished quilt is? Jenny usually tells you how much you need to make the front but if I’m ordering the materials for the front, obviously I need to order my yardage for the back. How big is this quilt please?
