To make a quilted sewing machine cover, you will need:
-Fabric for the cover
-Quilt batting or fusible fleece
-Sewing machine and thread
-Rotary cutter, ruler, and mat
-Iron and ironing board
-Basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, etc.)
Here are the basic steps to make a quilted sewing machine cover:
1. Measure your sewing machine to determine the size of the cover you need. Add a few inches to each measurement to allow for seam allowances and ease.
2. Cut two pieces of fabric to the size needed for the cover. Cut one piece of quilt batting or fusible fleece to the same size.
3. Layer the fabric and batting or fleece together with the right sides of the fabric facing out.
4. Quilt the layers together using your desired quilting design. This could be straight lines, diagonal lines, or a custom design.
5. Trim the excess batting or fleece from the edges of the quilted fabric.
6. Cut two strips of fabric to use as binding for the edges of the cover. Sew the binding strips to the edges of the cover, folding the corners neatly.
7. Cut a piece of fabric to use as a handle for the top of the cover. Sew the ends of the handle to the top of the cover.
Your quilted sewing machine cover is now complete! Simply slip it over your sewing machine to protect it when not in use.
