Hi It's Jenny, from the Missouri Star Quilt Company. The other day I was sewing this adorable quilt behind me, right here. It's a keyhole block. I was using this pattern by Thankfully Sew. It's just adorable and I love how she takes the precuts, and makes a block, and then separates them up with a little bit of appliqué. And I got to thinking to myself why couldn't we do the same thing with a Honey Bun.

So, what I did was, I took, I used "Nostalgia" for this one and I took the Honey Bun apart, rolled out my rolls, and out of each strip I cut two sets of 6 1/2" blocks and two sets of a corresponding block that it'll blend with. Then what you do to make that keyhole block is, you're going to put it together you're going to sew the two sides on just like that, and then you cap them and put a top and a bottom, because we all have different size presser foots you'll want to measure how wide this is after it's done so that you cut these the exact, right width on these two little pieces, and then when you go to put them together on the one behind me what we did is we just stacked them, we just stacked them end to end like this.

Made some darling keyhole blocks, and at the top of every other strip we would cut that block in half like this so that it offsets them, so, they end up looking like, in a brick pattern. You know where it goes back and forth. So, let me just lay a few more of these out here so you can kind of see what we're going for here. This is a really fun line. It's busy and it's girly, just cute as can be. Let's see, and again, you'll be cutting these in half, so, one piece will give you enough for two rows, but I'm just going to fold them to show you so you can get an idea of how this is going to look. So, really you're just going to start setting them up like this, and you can see out of one Honey Bun I have quite a few blocks here. So you ought to have fun making up this quilt. It should go together really quick for you, and I hope you enjoyed this quick tutorial from the Missouri Star Quilt Company.
