This fun modern quilt is going to be very familiar to make. Misty makes this quilt with Junior Jelly Rolls (those have half the number of 2.5" strips).

To begin, Misty starts taking her strips and overlapping them perpendicularly, sewing from corner to corner - much the way she would construct binding. She uses her Diagonal Seam Tape as a guide to sew her straight lines. Before you trim your corners, double check the seam and make sure it's folding the way you want it to.

Next Misty trims her long strip down to approximately 42" to 43" - just enough for the length of the quilt. She takes the remainder of the first strip, and then sews it to another strip, same as the first. Play with it and make your angle go the opposite direction this time.

Continue to use the leftover pieces for as long as you'd like. Once you've got some strips going, start laying them out in whatever pattern you wish. Start and end with an angled strip, and add your solid strips in between.
Once you have a layout you're pleased with, it's time to sew your strips together.

Misty's advice is to let the machine do the work when sewing the seams. Let the machine guide it through and just make sure that your 2 pieces of fabric are laying perfectly on top of one another. Don't pull or tug too hard, and your fabric will stay as true as possible. The same applies to the pressing. Don't worry about your varying strip lengths - you'll trim that up at the end!

The bonus in the pattern is a matching pillow that can be created with your light color dominant in exactly the same way.

Also, you can make both of these with scraps from your stash, leftover jelly roll strips or whatever you would like!
