Strip quilting, also known as strip piecing, is a quilting technique that involves sewing together strips of fabric to create a quilt top. This method is efficient and relatively easy, making it a popular choice for both beginner and experienced quilters.

To start strip quilting, you will need to select your fabric and decide on the width of your strips. The most common strip widths are 1.5", 2", 2.5", and 3", but you can choose any width that you prefer.

Once you have your strips cut, you will sew them together along their long edges, using a quarter-inch seam allowance. You can sew together strips of the same fabric or mix and match different fabrics to create a more dynamic look.

After sewing the strips together, you will press the seams flat, either to one side or open, depending on your preference. Then, you can continue adding more strips to your quilt top until it reaches the desired size.

When your quilt top is complete, you can add batting and a backing fabric before quilting it together with your chosen quilting method. With strip quilting, you can create a variety of different designs and patterns, from simple stripes to more complex geometric shapes.
