4 squares, 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″ in the background fabric
1 strip, 3 1/2″ X 15″ in the background fabric
1 strip, 3 1/2″ X 15″ in colour A
4 rectangles, 3 1/2″ X 6 1/2″ in colour B
To start, sew the 15" strips together with a 1/4" seam allowance. Press and then cut 4 patches that are 3.5" wide.
Next draw a diagonal line on the back of each of your squares of background fabric. Attach fabric squares to the left side of your rectangles, with the diagonal pointing downward. Chain piece to save time. Then trim your corners at 1/4".
Assemble the block in identical quadrants.
Rotate each quadrant 90 degrees before finally seaming the entire block together. Nest your seams to reduce bulk.
