Amy Latta is passionate about inspiring her online community by sharing honest inspiration for everyday life. On her award-winning blog amylattacreations.com, you’ll find easy-to-follow hand lettering tutorials, along with all kinds of craft and DIY projects anyone can create. Amy recently stopped by to teach us some hand lettering, show off some new fabric markers, and design some beautiful quilt labels that you can DIY for your next project!

Today Amy will give you some tips and tricks on how to prepare your quilt labels to give them a handmade touch with a little "art from the heart."

Here are a few tips:

1. When you're practicing, use smooth paper - a journal, copy paper, whatever is handy!

2. You can also practice with any implement - pen, pencil, markers, fine liners - whatever you want!

3. When you're ready to write on fabric, you want to use permanent fabric markers.

4. To prepare your quilting label, secure your piece of fabric to a hard surface (like cardboard) with Wonder Clips.

5. Always store your fabric markers horizontally to keep them working for a long time to come!
