Quilt Top: The quilt top is the top layer of the quilt, consisting of multiple pieces of fabric sewn together to create a pattern or design. The quilt top is typically the most decorative part of the quilt.
Batting: The batting is the middle layer of the quilt, providing warmth and thickness. It is usually made of cotton, wool, or polyester, and comes in various thicknesses and densities.
Backing Fabric: The backing fabric is the bottom layer of the quilt, and is typically a single piece of fabric that covers the entire back of the quilt. The backing fabric can be made of cotton, flannel, or other materials.
Binding: The binding is the fabric strip that covers the edges of the quilt, holding all three layers together. It is usually made of the same fabric as the quilt top or a coordinating fabric.
Quilting: Quilting is the process of stitching the layers of the quilt together, creating a decorative pattern and securing the layers in place. Quilting can be done by hand or by machine, and can range from simple to complex designs.
Label: A quilt label is a small piece of fabric that is attached to the back of the quilt, and typically includes the quilt maker's name, date of completion, and other information about the quilt.
Overall, each part of a quilt plays an important role in creating a finished product that is both functional and beautiful.
