Hi, it’s Jenny from, the Missouri Star Quilt Company. We got these cute little apple core templates in the other day and I thought I’d try it out and see how it worked. I like to test things out before I sell them.

So, what it is, is it’s this little template here, and you can use a charm pack. I chose “Bar Harbor”, and you just take your rotary cutter and you run it around these edges like this and cut it. We’re also getting a new cutter in the shop that makes this a little bit easier, and then you get this little piece like this, and the other thing you can do is you can trace them. And I’m coming clean with you here now, because I sat and did this in front of my TV one night and I didn’t you, know it’s hard to sit with things in your lap with a rotary cutter.

So, I traced them out on these Charm Packs, and then I just cut them out, and I’ll show you how I fit them together. I actually sat and sewed this by hand in one evening, but you can do it on the sewing machine. It’s really whichever you prefer. These just nest together, they’re so darling.

Here let's see, we’ve got one more side, there we go. So now we’ve got these two pieces and you can see how they just nest together like that, and what you want to remember is your inside curve is the one that you’re going to want to clip. So, you’re just going to make a little clip on this inside curve. And you’re going to mark your middle on this one, and so I do a finger crease like that, so I have a little mark, and then I have a little clip on this side.

I line those up, and then I put a pin in there. Let me get a couple of pins here, I put a pin there and then you just pull this around so that the edges meet, and you’re going to stitch that, and you can stitch it on your machine or you can stitch it by hand. Like I said I sat in front of the TV and put this whole little thing together in one night. So it was a pretty quick easy project and I just pinned these and sat and hand stitched them and it makes a nice little nesting.

Here I’ve got it finished. This is how it looks with the “Bar Harbor." Isn’t that adorable? It’s got such a nice little patriotic feel to it, and all the little apple cores nest together. This is just a fun, easy project. Another quick tutorial from the Missouri Star Quilt Company.
