An all-over quilting design, also known as edge-to-edge quilting, is a technique where the same quilting design is applied to the entire quilt top in a consistent and continuous pattern. This design is usually done with a longarm quilting machine or a sewing machine with a quilting foot.

The all-over quilting design is often chosen for its simplicity and ease of execution, as it does not require complex design work or multiple passes with different quilting patterns. It is a popular choice for quilts that are meant to be used and washed frequently, as the dense quilting pattern helps to hold the layers of the quilt together and prevent shifting or bunching.

To make the Grapevine, Leah combines two favorite all over designs: stippling and pebbling. First she creates the wavy vine, then adds groupings of pebbles (first three, then two, then one) to create her bunches of grapes.
