Southbound Quilt with Amber Elliot

Sometimes, just as dusk falls, hoards of starlings gather like clouds. They zig and zag in perfect synchronization against the darkening sky. This phenomenon, called murmuration, is the inspiration behind the beautiful Southbound quilt.

Our guest host, Amber Elliot of Alderwood Studio, is a master of modern quilting. She uses an ombre palette of grays to piece half-square triangles and simple squares that mimic the magic of murmuration. (Watch to the end to see this quilt done in pinks!)
