The Modern Mosaic quilt has a fun little twist: The scraps are the star of the show! First, Natalie cuts hexies from a precut layer cake. (Yes, they’re pieced with Y-seams. Yes, you can do this!) Then—and this is the best part—she gathers the leftover scraps to crumb-piece a second set of hexagons. This pattern may be a half-step beyond your comfort zone, but this is one challenge you're going to LOVE!
